Artist Statement

I consider my work as an emotional landscape. Though I have a concept of the feeling and colors, I never know exactly how a painting will look when finished. The process is a constant push and pull of giving up control and then taking it back, and discovering the finished painting is of constant interest to me. My goal is to create a personal experience for the viewer, provoking personal feelings and memories. I use the basic elements of color and texture to create a universal space where people can bring their own unique view to the canvas.
