Artist Statement

For thousands of years, artists made cave drawings, consistent in style. Social scientists take this as evidence of stable societies. Look at us now. Along with the surge in materials and methods for creating a valid visual expression, there's a fascination with artifacts of the recent past - maybe maintaining the illusion of constancy.
My paintings are concerned with entropy and resiliency, a compare/contrast between personal and community history and the effects of neglect and reconstruction.
My art is concerned with the way we live now and with finding the beauty in trickle-down environments.
