Artist Statement

My aim is to make new forms and images that explore why people make images, how we see, and why we doodle and dream. The results of these practice are works on found materials that have been foraged, scavenged, and applied with house paint, Chinese ink, and digital computer programs. I also use a lot of collage materials such as neighborhood business cards, Chinese newspapers, receipts, and other NY junk. My artform embraces the basic urges toward pattern-making, construction, organization, and composition. These objects transmit uncanny personal-universal feelings, strange presences, and the human touch.
