Artist Statement

I make sculptures that explore the idea of architecture as a container for memory. I manipulate materials such as firewood, hay bails, and stone, to create narratives that integrate the psychological space of past with the process of constructing a world with my hands in the present.

jimfreeman says: Abraham appealed to my sense of history, nature and the the sensuality of touch all at once. His use of aged wooden structures is playful, but it also respects the past and the people who built and lived in them. He sculpture is also richly and pleasurably tactile.
