Artist Statement

"Casper Smith's paintings are chock full of rebellion, but with a smirk, never a snarl. He confronts little issues like death and life in cheery technicolor, and faces down the oppressive powers that be with an Uzi fully loaded ... with silly string."

“Unrepentant anarchist with a heart of gold... Aesthetic by definition and still humble, I consider Casper a boy among unhappy adults.”

“...confusing, mesmerizing, disconcerting, vaguely appalling.”

The Guestbook
