These sculptures celebrate the physical properties of the medium.
I salvage sections of lobster trap line washed up on the rocky shores of Maine.
The multi hued chroma of these weathered lengths of frayed, sinewy rope embedded with rock-like knots serves as the primary ingredient for my sculptural assemblages.
Bleached sections of twisted driftwood serve as armatures to wrap cleaned and sorted cordage faded by the sun and worn by the sea.
Carved Marmoleum floor tile add a playful element to the assemblage’s visage.
My sculptures manifest an implicit virility rooted in figurative/animal associations, while bristling with an architectural quirkiness.
