Artist Statement

My photos are of objects I found at Dead Horse Bay, a beach at the southern end of Flatbush Ave. In the 1930's to the 50's, NYC used the beach as a garbage dump. What survived and became "exposed" by the wind, rain & seas were plastic toys, shoes, metal objects & ceramics. Over the years I collected these transformed pieces of "garbage" and photographed them in my studio using a view camera with B&W and Color film giving them a new life.
