Artist Statement

I make work that combines painting, photography, and alchemical tests. Through controlled accidents, I create surfaces that speak to the gut and the emotions as much as the intellect. Using unpredictable materials and processes like dipping and soaking, which destroy as much as they create, I allow compositions to evolve through time, gravity, and material interactions that are hard to control. Navigating that gray area between action and restraint, I attempt to transform simple materials into something strange and extraordinary, surprising both viewers and myself.

The Guestbook

Carolyn says: I loved the vivid colors and the fluidity of her pieces. They evoked beauty, contemplation, wonderment and unexplored emotions.
