Artist Statement

My work turns to investigation of the general basic mechanisms through which formal composition carries meaning and acquires social use. These investigations offer a deep comprehension of how something is made, how is it being used, and what impact it has. These concepts refer to the psychological, emotional states that result from the forms, but they hardly describe the original forms themselves. Inherent to my practice are investigations of cultural signs and the formal structures through which they are manifested. Using found objects, industrial and domestic material, as well as different fabrics, I develop processes which produce transformations.
