Artist Statement

Conceived in a type of mental blindsight, pulling from my visual subconscious archive while drawing inspiration from natural forms, experiences, events and emotions, my paintings are comprised of layers of both spontaneous gestural paint applications using bold brushstokes and dripped housepaintas well as more calculated drawings and mixed media. Abstractions in color and and form, they can be, like an inkblot test, variably interpreted when completed.

My photographs are shot spontaneously and often verge on abstraction. They capture compositions, energies, objects and moments that both highlight the beauty of the mundane and reflect our material and spiritual existence.
