Artist Statement

Recently I’ve been gathering photographic figures of people from around the world in various positions of action. I’ve been placing them together in tight or constrained spaces to draw attention to how we move about in society, uniformed, limited, struggling with needs vs. desires. I’m concerned that we are globally using up our natural resources threatening the survival of people and the cultures that bind them. This summer I want to revisit the components of my 2010 installation – Yesterday’s shadows – to see how it can be installed in another space.
