Oliver Jeffers is inspired by the gap between logical thinking and emotional understanding. He investigates this shared chasm through asking questions and telling stories.
His interest in figurative painting stems from its subjective process: though a decidedly representational discipline. His interest in logic stems from a fascination with and aspiration for the objectivity sought by science.
Using formal painting as the basis of his visual vocabulary, he displays the humanity of a story that questions its scientific parameters, and strives to understand the very man-made terminology communicating those parameters.
