Artist Statement

I have drawn and painted since I was a little kid. For me, making sculpture is just an extension of playing with blocks. So, in a way, I have always thought of myself as an artist. I did go to art school, but it took me until I was almost 50 to realize that it was okay to make art just because.

I work doing carpentry and cabinet work. For the past 12 years, I have been part of a group of artists who work in the building trades. We meet once a month and have a show most years.
