Artist Statement
Sophia Wallace (b. 1978) is an artist working in conceptual photography, video and mixed media. Solo exhibitions include Truer at Newspace Center of Photography upcoming in March 2013 and The New Masculine at Leslie-Lohman Gallery in 2010. Awards include PDN’s Curator Award, Critic's Pick by the Griffin Museum of Photography. Wallace received her Bachelors from Smith College in 2000 and Master of Arts in Photography from New York University and The International Center of Photography in 2005. Presently, Wallace is a 2012 Van Lier Fellow and Resident in the Art Law Residency.
