Artist Statement

Notions of landscape, history, transportation, architecture, and the home are present in my work. My sculptural objects are often concentrated around human limitations and the desire for "more." In my drawings, various places and landmarks are woven together forming whimsical dreamscapes. My work reflects places I have lived, traveled through or dreamt up. As an artist, I aim to continually explore how land is molded by humanity and, conversely, how surrounding environments shape both the individual and society at large.

The Guestbook

aptasch says: Not only is the craftsmanship of Sarah's work beautiful, her sculptures have an open-ended dialogue with material, form, and location that allow them to transcend mere object hood. Her work has a strong acknowledgement of both nature and tradition while comfortably being at home in contemporary urban space. Art that has such honesty is rare.
