Artist Statement

In these paintings I am exploring somewhere between the real and the un-real, representation and abstraction, reality and imagination, things that can be described and things that can't be. Conceptually, looking for common themes and issues is a way to make sense of the world and my own life from \the worlds of media, literature, film, music and the history of painting. The results are open-ended abstractions that are a way to look into the phenomenon of these other worlds in a form of my new painting.
