Artist Statement

I document, deconstruct, and recompose organic and idiosyncratic architectural transformations on a macro and micro level, giving form to dissonance within an environment. I use photography cumulatively, drawing from archival and current self- generated images to build large collage-type installations. My site-specific compositions work around, though, and over shape, searching for the moment when the initial form “falls off”. The work uses photography not as a tool to stop time, but to control time passing. It is an amalgamation of traditional photographic languages and a syntax belonging to the twentieth century sculptural tradition.
