Artist Statement

Using stainless steel wire mesh, these objects appear to be very solid when you approach them from one side and then when turning around almost disappear. It is this momentary state of confusion, of slight mistrust of recent past experience that I am interested in exploring.

The shapes of these objects are culled from a variety of images and flashbacks – sandstone deserts, barren Nordic rocks, a movement from dance or daily life. They are both fragile and timeless. Both familiar and, like a dream, not quite real.
