Artist Statement

I am interested in exploring the subjective nature of the truth that exists in photography. Memory, narrative, and intimacy are recurring themes in my work. My project “Kiss & Tell” is a collection of other people’s memories re-imagined with my camera. In my recent project, “May the Road Rise to Meet You,” I retraced the steps of my father, a traveling salesman, in order to experience the road from his perspective and visually reconstruct a life traveled. On a larger scale, the work explores the changing nature of “the road” in American culture and in the history of photography.
